Wind turbine modelling, load calculations and control

This course teaches how to perform load simulations and how to tune the wind turbine control system, both for wind turbine certification.

Module 1: Load Calculations (2 days)

This module teaches the attendants to make a wind turbine model, tune a basic wind turbine controller and perform load calculations such that the turbine can be certified.

The course is suitable for engineers without wind turbine modelling experience, but are educated or have gained practical technical experience on HBO or Academic level.

Module 2: Advanced wind turbine control (2 days)

This module teaches the attendants to apply, and tune advanced wind turbine control systems. After the wind turbine control systems are tuned ‘optimally’ the mechanical design is revisited, showing the attendants how they can reduce the costs of the wind turbine they designed in Module 1 using the advanced wind turbine controllers.

The course is suitable for engineers without control expertise but are educated or have gained practical technical experience on HBO or Academic level.
