Bringing the entire team to the next level with an incompany training

This spring, a diverse group of Endress+Hauser employees attended an incompany training from PAOTM focused on Data Mining & Predictive Modeling. Tomaso Della Vedova, responsible for the Food Industry within Endress+Hauser, is happy to share his experience about the course. Together with his colleague Chantal Visser, HR Service Partner, we look back on the course that was led by data analysis lecturer at Eindhoven ​​University of Technology Koo Rijpkema.

Endress+Hauser is a global leader in measuring instruments, services and solutions for industrial process engineering. They help and support customers with improvement processes (optimization) and data analysis in case of problems.

Why an incompany training at PAOTM?
Tomaso and Koo Rijpkema are no strangers to each other. Previously, Tomaso participated in the Multivariate data analysis course led by Koo. Because Tomaso wanted to deepen his knowledge and because he had good experiences with Koo and PAOTM, he turned to them again earlier this year. Together they looked at how the deepening could take place. It was important that Endress+Hauser's own cases were discussed. When that turned out to be no problem and the cost was also appreciated, the choice was made for an incompany training.

Looking back at the course
The departments of marketing, service, projects and sales were represented during the course, all with their own entry level. They wanted to increase the general knowledge level and learn how to apply methods. During the course all data analysis techniques were discussed, a few were applied.

Participants and the course leader are very enthusiastic about the course. The high level and fast pace has provided them the right knowledge. The group started working on its own cases, such as data analysis from the cloud environment, which they wanted to use for predictive maintenance purposes. They have made great progress with this.

Using knowledge actively
By actively working with the knowledge gained, the participants want to pass on what they have learned within Endress+Hauser to other colleagues. The plan is to meet every three months to solve a current problem using the technique learned from the incompany training.

The next training
All data used within Endress+Hauser has a time component; something that just happened has an effect on now, that is of great importance. That's why Tomaso and his team do not want to leave it at this course. A small delegation of the participants will soon meet to discuss time series analysis in more detail, of course again under the leadership of Koo.
