This ensures that our courses are always up to date, practice-oriented and directly applicable.

A new year: new courses
In the first half of 2026, PAOTM will introduce several new courses. Two in the field of Systems Engineering and new titles within digital design techniques and infrastructure. These courses are taught in Dutch.

Soil protection near quay walls and sheet pile walls
For both existing and new quay walls and sheet pile walls, soil protection plays a crucial role in ensuring stability and safety. In this new course, already scheduled for January 27, you will gain insight into the risks of soil erosion and learn which measures are effective in preventing damage.

The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with design principles, execution aspects and current practical examples related to soil protection in the vicinity of hydraulic structures. The course is relevant for civil engineers, designers and consultants involved in infrastructure projects in wet environments.

Introduction to Model-Based Systems Engineering
In this one-day introductory course, you will gain greater insight into the context of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). The course covers the strategic and tactical objectives of MBSE, how MBSE relates to Systems Engineering (SE), and how this approach can be practically applied within an organization.

You will gain a clear and structured understanding of the organizational benefits of MBSE. The course is particularly interesting for executives, managers and decision-makers who want to understand the impact of MBSE for projects, collaboration and decision-making, and want to explore whether and how MBSE can be implemented within their organization. The course is scheduled for June 5.

Model Based Systems Engineering with SysML
For professionals who want to apply MBSE in practice, the course Model Based Systems Engineering with SysML, offers an in-depth and practice-oriented approach. You will learn how to model complex systems using SysML, creating both structural and behavioral models within a single integrated system model.

The course focuses on effectively capturing requirements, functions, interfaces and behavior and demonstrates how integrated models can contribute to better analysis and well-founded decision-making. The objective is to apply MBSE effectively in complex projects. This course is suitable for engineers, system architects and project managers who want to deepen and professionalize their Systems Engineering approach.

Grasshopper & AI
Digital design tools and artificial intelligence are transforming the way engineers and designers work. In the Grasshopper & AI course, you will discover how parametric design with Grasshopper can be combined with AI applications to generate, analyze and optimize design variants.

Participants gain insight into the potential of data-driven and generative design with a strong focus on practical applications and new design strategies that improve efficiency and creativity. The course is intended for designers, engineers and consultants who want to experiment with innovative digital tools. The course days are scheduled for April 16 and 17.

Moving forward together
More new courses will be added to our program later in the year. Stay informed via our newsletter or website, where can also find details about the new courses introduced in the past half year: Assessment and Reuse of Foundations in accordance with NEN 8707, Practical Course in Foundation Investigation and Damage Investigation in Construction: Forensic Engineering. These Dutch courses will be scheduled again later in in 2026. Register for the interest list to be the first to be informed about the new planning.
